Men's Tennis Narrowly Denied at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team suffered a tight loss on the road to Landmark Conference opponent Moravian University, as they lost 4-5 on Saturday afternoon. 

Juniata earned a pair of doubles victories to start the day. Adrián Di Benedetto Vásquez and Basile Gandon earned an 8-4 second doubles win, while Dillon Murphy and Ross Conway earned a third doubles, tiebreaker win 8-7 (8-6). Arsen Tabaldyev and Arthur DeYoung were defeated 1-8 in first singles.  

After earning a second doubles win, both Di Benedetto Vásquez and Gandon won their singles matches. Gandon earned a second doubles win convincingly 6-0, 6-2, while Di Benedetto Vásquez won in third singles late on via a tiebreaker 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8). Tabaldyev fell in a first singles tiebreaker 6-4, 1-6, 0-1 (6-10). Conway lost in fourth singles 6-7 (4-7), 2-6, while DeYoung fell 1-6, 3-6 in fifth singles. Murphy lost in sixth singles 2-6, 2-6.  

The Juniata men's tennis team continues the weekend of Landmark Conference action by traveling to Drew tomorrow afternoon. Competition starts at 1:00 p.m.
