Bearcats Befuddle Eagles

ALTOONA, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team was edged, 5-4 by St. Vincent at The Summit on Saturday.

The Bearcats took doubles two and three before the Eagles won at first doubles. Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia / -) and Xavier Huerta (Grand Prairie, Texas / Mansfield Lake Ridge H.S.) won, 8-3 at first doubles, William Michelson (Old Mystic, Conn. / Stonington) and Trey France (Blue Bell, Pa. / Wissachichon) fell, 8-4 at second doubles, and Robert Singer (Olney, Md. / Sherwood HS) and Kyle Louder (Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata H.S.) fell, 8-4 at third doubles. After the doubles matches, Juniata was down 2-1 against St. Vincent. 

The Eagles got the lead on the Bearcats, 4-2 as they won third singles first singles, and second singles. Michelson had an easy, 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. In first singles, Buralkin fell in a close 5-7 in the first set but came back, 6-0 and 10-8 in the second and third sets to win at first singles. Huerta won, 6-3 in the first set and had a close win of 7-5 in the second set to secure the win at second singles. St. Vincent secured their win as Juniata lost the last three singles matches. Singer fell, 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles, Louder fell, 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles, and France fell 6-2 and in a close 7-5 at fifth singles. 

The Eagles return to the court tomorrow as they host Penn College at 11 AM.
