BETHLEHEM, PA- For the third consecutive season, the Juniata men's tennis team has qualified for the Landmark Conference Tournament. The Eagles clinched their playoff spot with a 7-2 victory over Moravian on Sunday afternoon.
At second doubles, the pair of Sho Sato (Shiga, Japan/Kansai Gaidai University) and Logan Moore (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) won their eighth straight decision with an 8-5 win over the pair of Lewis Cooper and Giovanni Lombardi. Overall, the two improve to 11-6 on the season. Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) and Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, MA/Worcester Academy) won 8-2 over Dan Schmucker and David Wilson.
Two players kept their winning streaks going in singles play. Dean Polisena (Adelaide, Australia/St. Ignatius) defeated Matt Tuorto 7-6, 6-0 for his seventh straight win. Gregory also won his seventh straight with a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Schmucker. Moore secured his team leading 13th victory as he defeated Lombardi 6-0, 6-1.
The Eagles return to Raffensberger Tennis Court on Tuesday for a non-conference match with Penn State-Altoona. Start time will be at 4:30 p.m.
