Men’s Swimming Make Waves Against Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa.- The Juniata College men's swim team traveled to compete at Chatham University where they won a tightly contested meet 126-117, Friday evening. 

In the 200-yard Medley Relay, the team of Matthew Tiernan, Isaac March, Kevin Bowser, and Jay Gajiwala secured second place with a time of 2:01.47.

The 1000-yard Freestyle saw William Dovey and James Oster earning second and third place, respectively, with times of 12:22.18 and 13:06.50.

In the 200-yard Freestyle, Marshall Radonovich led the charge, clinching first place with a time of 1:56.10. Maxwell Baronner and Tiernan followed, taking second and fourth with times of 1:59.99 and 2:21.33, respectively.

The Eagles continued in the 100-yard Backstroke, with Christian Rota finishing second in 1:02.99 and Gajiwala securing third in 1:16.75. In the 100-yard Breaststroke, Juniata cleaned up as Oster, Dovey, and March swept the top three spots with times of 1:17.54, 1:20.25, and 1:20.83, respectively.

Bowser represented Juniata in the 200-yard Butterfly, taking second with a 2:36.03 finish. In the quick-paced 50-yard Freestyle, Baronner claimed second place with a time of 23.76, while teammates Tiernan and Gajiwala placed third and fourth in 26.56 and 27.69.

The 100-yard Freestyle featured another strong swim from Radonovich, finishing second in 52.47. Bowser and March followed in third and fourth, clocking 58.10 and 1:01.09, respectively.

Rota and Tiernan returned for the 200-yard Backstroke, taking second and third with times of 2:21.39 and 2:43.81. In the 200-yard Breaststroke, Baronner secured a first-place finish at 2:28.68, followed by Oster (2:46.41) and March (3:15.46).

Radonovich continued in the 500-yard Freestyle, taking first place with a time of 5:17.34. Gajiwala added another solid performance, finishing third in 6:35.46.

In the 100-yard Butterfly, Bowser finished second with a time of 1:03.17, while Rota followed closely in third at 1:04.05. Dovey took on the grueling 400-yard Individual Medley, claiming second place with a 5:24.61 finish.

The meet concluded with the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, where the team of Radonovich, Dovey, Rota, and Baronner earned a dominant victory, clocking in at 1:42.45.

The Eagles return to the pool tomorrow to take on Elizabethtown and Penn State Altoona at 1:00.
