DALLAS, Pa. - The Juniata men's swimming team traveled to Misericordia University to compete in day two of the Cougar Splash on Saturday.
The meet began with the 200-yard medley relay, where the A team of Marshall Radonovich, Max Baronner, Kevin Bowser, and Christian Rota placed 11th with a time of 1:47.61. The B team of Matthew Tiernan, Isaac March, Jay Gajiwala, and Jim Oster finished 12th with a time of 1:58.59.
In the 400-yard IM, Will Dovey represented Juniata, finishing with a time of 5:17.89.
The 100-yard butterfly saw Bowser lead the team with a time of 58.66 to finish 17th, while Gajiwala clocked in at 1:07.68.
Radonovich led Juniata in the 200-yard freestyle, placing sixth with a time of 1:50.69. Rota and Oster also competed, finishing 13th (2:00.65) and 17th (2:08.97), respectively.
Baronner swam the 100-yard breaststroke, taking 15th place with a time of 1:09.10. March followed with a finish of 1:17.48.
Radonovich had a record-breaking performance in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a time of 57.00, now the fastest time in Juniata program history. Tiernan also swam, finishing with a time of 1:09.13.
The morning session concluded with the 800-yard freestyle relay, where the A team of Radonovich, Rota, Oster, and Dovey clocked a time of 8:16.92.
The afternoon began with the 1650-yard freestyle, where Rota completed the event in 20:14.56. Oster followed with a time of 22:07.13.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Radonovich placed 10th with a time of 2:07.74. Tiernan also competed, finishing in 2:29.94.
The 100-yard freestyle featured Bowser leading the team with a time of 51.93, while Gajiwala swam to a finish of 58.44.
Baronner swam the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:34.22. March followed with a time of 2:48.56.
The meet wrapped up with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Radonovich, Bowser, Rota, and Dovey finished in 3:50.29.
The men's swimming team will return to action on Saturday, January 18, competing in a conference tri-meet against Wilkes and Lycoming.
