WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost on the road at Catholic University, 75-45, Tuesday afternoon.
Jayden Bilger had 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block while Ty Kocak tallied seven points, two rebounds and an assist. William Littles Jr. added nine points, and two rebounds off the bench. Tyler Lapetina contributed three points and eight rebounds. Tre Yawn totaled five points, a rebound, an assist and a steal.
Kocak found Melchizedek Jonah for a three to tie the game at 3-3, and after a stop, finished inside to give JC the lead. He scored inside again, made a foul shot and Morris Ivery found Littles Jr. for a three to make it 11-5 Juniata six minutes in.
Yawn added a three of his own off another Morris assist. From there, the Cardinals dominated the final 12 minutes of the half, going on a 26-5 run to close out the half as they led 36-19 at the half.
Catholic kept the Eagles at bay in the second half to get the win.
Juniata had a good day from the three as they shot 47.4% from behind the three-point line.
The Eagles return to action this Saturday at home against Goucher at 4:00. They will honor their seniors before the game.
