Rangers Roll in Second Half to Ground Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost to visiting top of the conference Drew University, 90-66, Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium.

Ty Kocak totaled 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Jayden Bilger added nine points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while Tre Yawn tallied eight points, three rebounds, and two assists off the bench. Melchizedek Jonah had seven points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block.

The first half saw the Eagles defense limit the Rangers to 41.4% shooting from the floor, and Kocak's strong drives to the hoops kept Juniata within shouting distance. 13 of Juniata's first-half points came off the bench as the Eagles got contributions from everyone.

Juniata went into the half down seven, 35-28.

The Ranger offense exploded in the second half, shooting 65.6% from the floor. The Eagles tried to keep the pace, shooting 48.3%, but the Rangers also outshot JC from behind the line, making seven to Juniata's three. Drew cruised through the later stages of the second half to seal their win.

The men's basketball team will travel to the nation's capital to take on Catholic University Wednesday at 7:00.
