River Hawks Soar Past Eagles in Second Half

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost on the road at Susquehanna University 66-41 on Wednesday evening inside O.W. Houts Gymnasium. 

Ty Kocak totaled nine points, five rebounds, and two steals, while Malcolm Griffith tallied six points, three bounds, and an assist off the bench. Jayden Bilger added four points, six rebounds, an assist, and a block, while Morris Ivery had five points, two rebounds, and a steal. 

SU opened the game on a 15-2 run over the first four and a half minutes. The Eagles offense began to find a rhythm as Kocak and Hardy each drilled threes to help cut the deficit to five with a little under nine to go in the half. The River Hawks slowly added to their lead before Tyler Lapetina found Ivery for a jumper to make it 28-17 with three and a half to go. The hosts scored the final four points of the half to make it 32-17 at the break. 

Susquehanna opened the second half with an 11-3 run, and the Eagles couldn't find their way back into the game the rest of the way. 

Juniata returns home to host the University of Scranton Saturday at 4:00.
