TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost on the road at Goucher College, 66-42, on Saturday afternoon at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
Tre Yawn totaled nine points, five rebounds, and a steal off the bench, while Ty Kocak tallied eight points, three rebounds, and a steal. Mason Hardy added seven points and two rebounds.
The defenses were strong in the first half as both teams held each other below 40%, as the teams were in single digits midway through the first half. Both teams managed to get going as the first half ended, but a Yawn layup was answered by a Gopher three, which meant the Eagles were trailing by seven at the half. Goucher's offense got rolling in the second half, and the Eagles couldn't keep up, as the hosts outscored JC 39-22 in the second half to seal the game.
Goucher had a 41-32 advantage in rebounding, while the Eagles had an 11-6 edge in fastbreak points. Juniata also got a bit more from their bench, 22-20. The Eagles were undone by their cold shooting, as Goucher made 10 three-pointers to the Eagles two.
Juniata returns to action on Wednesday at home, hosting the #21 Catholic University of America at 7:00.
