HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata men's basketball team fell to Immaculata University, 67-58, in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon. Despite a strong rebounding effort (40-26), the Eagles struggled with turnovers (24) and poor three-point shooting, making just 2 of 11 attempts (18.2%).
Tyler Lapetina led Juniata with 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Mason Hardy added 10 points. Malcolm Griffith came off the bench to score 12 points and grab six rebounds. Immaculata shot 43.4% from the field, including 38.9% from three-point range, and made 70.0% of their free throws.
Immaculata led by nine at halftime, 36-27, and although Juniata made a push in the second half to cut the deficit to six points, they couldn't get any closer. Dylan Crews led Immaculata with 14 points, going a perfect 6-6 from the field.
Juniata will take on Hood College in the consolation game tomorrow at 2:00 PM in Memorial Gymnasium.
