Flying Dutchman Soar Past Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball lost to visiting Lebanon Valley College, 66-47, Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium.  

Ty Kocak had 14 points off the bench, with five steals and an assist. Jaiden Aze added seven points, seven rebounds, and an assist, while Jordan Shifler totaled four points, eight rebounds, and a steal. Mason Hardy contributed five points, one rebound, three assists, three steals and a block.  

The Flying Dutchman ran out to a 13-0 lead over the opening seven minutes as Juniata found themselves in a hole early. Kocak converted the first shot of the game for the Eagles, a three, and a Hardy assist. 

Two foul shots, a steal, and a layup later, and Kocak had scored the first seven points for JC and cut the lead to six. The visitors responded with eight straight before another Kocak three made it 21-10, but the Flying Dutchman answered on the other end to push the deficit to 14.  

Lebanon Valley scored the final bucket of the half, as Juniata trailed by 15 at the half, 33-18.  

Juniata couldn't close the gap in the second half, as the Flying Dutchman cruised through the second half to close the game, 66-47.   

The Eagles return to action on the road Lycoming Wednesday at 7:00.
