Dutchman Deny Eagles

Dutchman Deny Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team lost to visiting Lebanon Valley College 4-0 in nonconference action Wednesday evening at Knox Stadium.

The Dutchmen scored their first goal 10 minutes into the game. They crossed the ball from the right wing, went through the middle of a congested goalmouth and found a Dutchman at the back post to slap it in the cage.

They followed the same script a minute later, crossing from the right side and putting it away at the back post to double their lead.

The score remained the same at halftime. Juniata held a 6-2 advantage in penalty corners and a 5-4 edge in shots at the break.

Midway through the third, a Lebanon Valley forward dribbled in from the right end line and passed it into another forward. She rolled it into the middle for Claire Wiedenhamer to slot in.

The Dutchman added one more in the fourth to complete the scoring.

Amanda Puza made three saves in goal for the Eagles.

Juniata returns to action on the road this Saturday as they travel to play Goucher Saturday at 1:00.
