GETTYSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team lost on the road at Gettysburg College, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon at Musselman Field.
Caitlin Steffie scored a goal, and Sydney Witter assisted. Amanda Puza made 11 saves in goal for JC.
The Bullets broke through 12 minutes into the game, slotting in a goal via a loose ball by the left side of the goal.
In the second quarter, one Gettysburg player passed it to her left as they finished cleanly to double the Eagle deficit.
Juniata trailed 2-0 at the break, and the hosts held a 15-1 advantage in shots at the half.
Three minutes into the second half, Gettysburg added a third as they tipped in a pass from the wing that found the back of the Eagle cage.
Midway through the third, Witter deflected a ball played in from the top of the arc to Steffie at the back post, who pushed it in.
Gettysburg added one more in the fourth to complete the scoring.
Juniata returns to action at home on Saturday to take on Dickinson at 1:00.
