TOWSON, Md.- For the second time this season, the Juniata field hockey team has swept the Landmark weekly awards. Senior forward/midfielder Sarah Bilheimer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) has been selected as the Offensive Athlete of the Week while freshman goalkeeper Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) is the Defensive Athlete of the Week. This is the third weekly honor for Bilheimer while it is the first for Edwards.
Bilheimer had a three-goal week for the Eagles. She scored twice in Tuesday's 4-2 win for the Eagles over York. In the regular season finale against Catholic, she assisted on the game-tying goal and scored the game-winner in the overtime period as Juniata won 2-1 to clinch the #2 seed in the Landmark Tournament. On the season, she has scored 21 goals and assisted on nine others for a total of 51 points. She also has seven game-winning scores.
Edwards had a 17-save week for the Eagles. In 142:43 of game time, she only surrendered three goals. Her biggest performance came Saturday against Catholic. She turned away 13 shots for the Eagles as Juniata won 2-1 to clinch the #2 seed in the Landmark Tournament. Overall, she has logged 846:56 minutes in the cage and sports a 1.32 GAA and a .768 save percentage. Her 16 goals surrendered is the least in the entire Landmark Conference.
