Juniata remains winless on Goodman Field

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College field hockey has yet to find a goal or a win on Goodman Field at Knox Stadium and dropped its second straight game against Delaware Valley College on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 final score.

Delaware Valley (2-3) got its only goal of the game off a penalty stroke in the 22nd minute by Kelsey Zook that was just out of the reach of Juniata's goalie, Janelle Howard (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), who recorded three saves.

Juniata (3-3) ripped 25 shots, 19 of which came in the second 35 minutes of play, but was unable to break the Aggie defensive barrier. Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) took seven shots and freshman Sara Bilheimer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) took five. Juniata also registered 13 penalty corner opportunities compared to the Aggies' eight.

Tori Buser (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) recorded two defensive saves for Juniata on back-to-back penalty corners just prior to the Aggie's penalty stroke.

The Delaware Valley win marks just the second time in program history that Juniata hasn't come out victorious.

Juniata will seek to clinch its first win on its home turf on Tuesday, September 18, against Wilkes College at 4:00 p.m.
