Field hockey gets back in the win column with 1-0 victory

DALLAS, Pa. – Junior Emily Anne Moore (Winston-Salem, N.C./Forsyth Country Day) earned her first collegiate goal against Misericordia University to lift Juniata field hockey to a 1-0 win in Dallas, Pa. on Friday afternoon. 

Moore's goal came in the 30th minute assisted by freshman Sara Bilheimer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom).

It was a close game all around between Misericordia (2-2) and the Eagles as Juniata (2-1) took eight shots and the Cougars recorded nine. Misericordia had eight penalty corner opportunities and Juniata tallied seven.

Juniata goalie Janelle Howard (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) got the start in the cage and played 64 minutes and recorded four saves. Sophomore Shelby Miller (Pottstown, Pa./Own J. Roberts) played just over six minutes at goalie and was not tested. 

The Eagles will play King's (Pa.) tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. as part of the Misericordia University Tournament.
