BETHLEHEM, PA- Juniata's football team traveled to face the Moravian University Greyhounds in a conference matchup on Saturday, and lost by a final score of 35-13.

It was rough start for the Eagles, as Moravian scored 65-yard rushing touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to lead 7-0 early.

That 7-0 lead would last for the first quarter.

The second quarter was where the Eagles left their footprint on the game. The Eagles were driving as the first quarter ended, and they picked up right where they left off in the second. A 16-play, 99-yard, and 5:54 drive was capped off with a two yard rushing touchdown by Joey Menke.

An Alex Mullin extra point tied it up 7-7.

Despite the Greyhounds scoring on their ensuing drive, the Eagles defense played well, forcing two more punts in the second quarter. On the second punt, the Eagles got the ball back at the Juniata 41 with 38 seconds left. With good clock management the Eagles were able to get it to the Moravian 35 yard line for one final play in the half. Calvin German threw a dart to Sean Hakanson in the corner of the end zone to score for the Eagles and make it a one point game, 14-13 heading into the locker room.

The second half would be controlled by the Greyhounds, though, and the Eagles were unable to score. Moravian scored on the first drive in the third quarter, and on back-to-back drives early in the fourth quarter to win by a final score of 35-13.

German threw for 235 yards and a touchdown on the day, while Hakanson, who caught the touchdown, led in receiving with 112 yards on seven receptions. Ivan Foreman led the Eagles on the ground with 29 yards rushing and Ethan Shank and Gunner Lesher each made nine total tackles on defense.

The Eagles will move on to a home matchup next Saturday when they host Lycoming College at 1:00 p.m.
