Four Juniata Football Players Inducted Into NFF National Honor Society

IRVING, TX- Four members of the Juniata football team earned membership to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.  The organization recognizes football student-athletes from every division who have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA while being a starter in their last year of eligibility.

Seniors Jonah Plymire (York, Pa./Central York), Colin Schaeffer (Newport, Pa./Newport HS), Michael John (Osceola Mills, Pa./Owings Mills), and Kweku Parker (York, Pa./Central York) represent Juniata. A total of 868 players from 275 schools qualified for membership in the society's 10th year, setting a new record for the number of schools represented in the history of the program.

The 868 players honored in 2016 is a new high water mark, eclipsing the previous record of 838 honorees in 2014. The initiative has honored 6,620 student-athletes since its inception, and the program has experienced growth every year in either members or school participation since its launch in 2007.
