Baseball Selected Seventh in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata baseball team was selected seventh in this year's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Susquehanna takes the top spot in the preseason poll as they are seated first with 60 points, behind them is Elizabethtown (37), Scranton (36), Catholic (31), Moravian (31), Drew (24), and then Juniata with 12 points.

The Eagles return Landmark All-Conference player, senior Adam Kipp (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern).  Last season, Kipp appeared in 38 games with 131 at bats. Kipp hit .328 with 43 hits, ten doubles, three triples, and three home runs. He totaled 38 RBI, 14 walks, and 26 runs scored. Kipp led the team in RBI's, triples, home runs, and doubles. 

Other top returners for Juniata; juniors Larry Corle (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central High school), Joshua Gery (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottstown Senior High School), Sam Craig (Mullica Hill, N.J. / Kingsway Regional), Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa. / Mifflin County High School), and Ryan McClain (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville). Last season, Corle scored 21 runs and totaled 47 hits and also totaled six doubles and 19 RBI's. Catcher, Gery totaled 12 runs, 14 hits, and 11 RBI's along with 128 putouts. Fellow junior, Craig, scored 13 runs and totaled 17 hits while Maclay scored 18 runs and totaled 32 hits and 23 RBI's with a .967 fielding percentage. McClain tallied 13 runs, 33 hits, and 16 RBI's. 

Baseball kicks off their season March 1st as they travel to Dickinson for a doubleheader starting at 11 AM.
