Sinking Valley, Pa. - Juniata Men's Golf played through harsh conditions in a rain-filled tournament at Sinking Valley Country Club. Harrison Levithan collected the first win in program history. The Eagles finished fifth out of 17 teams, shooting 312.
Harrison Levithan had a career-best 72 to win the tournament. Levithan had three birdies and 12 pars as the first solo winner in program history. Ethan Brown followed up Levithan in a tie for third, shooting 73. Brown finished with four birdies to complete his personal best round. Jaron Yoder carded an 88, complete with a solo birdie from 30 feet. Kamden Clapper and Ben Pintof struggled, shooting 84 and 83 as the rain never ceased, leaving them without an opportunity to close out holes.
Colby Starr led the B team shooting 85 battling through the rain. Starr struck it well making a birdie on hole 10 a par 3 over water. Larry Singer carded an 85 shooting only two over on a strong back nine. Colin Wible was four over through 12 holes finishing with an 87 as the rain soaked through. Shawn Gamble shot 97 and hit the pin from 200 yards. Eric Soccio turned in a 91.
Juniata Men's Golf will battle next in a dual match against Susquehanna University on Sunday, April 14 at American Legion Country Club at 10:00 AM.
