    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The class of 2012 for the Juniata College field hockey team earned more recognition as forward Kim Amrod and defender Meghan McGlone were named to the 2009 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Field Hockey Second Team All-Star team, released November 30.

After winning the conference championship in field hockey and women’s volleyball, senior goalkeeper Denalyn Spratt (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights), sophomore forward Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), and senior opposite Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) were named as players of the week.

But, being ranked in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll for five weeks in a row now does not hurt the team’s chances either. They remain at no. 18 in this week’s poll, released today.

    READING, Pa. – A nine game winning streak came to a screeching halt Monday evening when the Juniata College field hockey team traveled to Reading, Pa., to take on Alvernia University in non-conference action. The Crusaders scored an early second half goal and that was more than enough for Alvernia’s defense as they beat the Eagles, 1-0.
