HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The awards continue to pile on for Juniata College sophomore Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) as she was named to the 2009 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-American Third Team, announced November 25.
In addition to the team success this season, McGlone earned the Defensive Player of the Year Award in the Landmark Conference as well as a repeat first team honoree. In her first season, she was named as the Conference's Rookie of the Year, including a first team selection.
McGlone then earned a spot on the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All South Atlantic Region First Team before being voted as an All American.
Salisbury University claimed the ultimate prize with a 1-0 victory over Messiah in the Championship game. It was the fifth title for the Seagulls field hockey program.
