HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After finishing fourth during the indoor season, the Juniata College women's track & field team hopes to transfer success to the outdoor season. The Eagles placed fourth at the 2013 Landmark Outdoor Track & Field Championships and will be looking to improve this year.

The Juniata women start the season third, based on the preseason poll as voted on by the league's coaches. The Eagles raked in 27 points in the poll to round out the top half of the conference.

Defending champion Moravian finished first in the voting with 47 points and four first-place votes, and is returning a core that won 15 All-Conference honors last year. Susquehanna slots second with the remaining two first-place votes and 41 points.

Juniata lost one of its greatest threats in graduate Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock), but can be sure that several individuals will step up to fill the void. Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) earned First Team All-Landmark honors for her victory in the 5000 meter run in 2013 and junior Courtney Peterson (York, Pa./Central York) was also named to the First Team for her first place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

The Eagles will also look to newcomer freshman Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) in the jumps and senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) in the sprints. Both were named to the All-Conference Team for their performances in the indoor season.
