Angela Shaffer looks to set heptathlon record again at Lynchburg Open

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Juniata College track and field's junior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) competed in Monday's day one of the heptathlon at the Lynchburg Open in Lynchburg, Va.

Shaffer currently stands at eighth overall with 2607 points and results from the 100 hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m dash. 

Shaffer turned up a personal best in the 200 with a time of 26.08 seconds. 

She completed the 100m hurdles in 15.55 seconds, just .17 seconds off her best time this outdoor season, and logged a 5' 4¼" mark in the high jump, and a 28' 4½" toss in the shot put.

Shaffer will compete in the long jump, javelin throw, and 800m events in day two of the heptathlon with hopes of breaking the heptathlon Juniata record for a second time this season and qualify for NCAA Nationals.
