HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After a 1-3 week and a 0-3 start the Landmark Conference season, the Juniata College women's tennis team will look to regain the seasons' earlier momentum in a league battle with Susquehanna University Tuesday, April 8, at 3:30 p.m. The Eagles stand at 8-4 on the year and will go up against a Crusaders team that is 6-5 overall, 1-1 in Landmark matches, and coming off a 7-2 loss to Catholic University of America.

Senior Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) is leading the way for the Eagles with a 13-5 overall record in singles play. She claimed both No. 2 singles matches last Sunday against Elizabethtown College and York College and has won seven of her last ten matches. Similarly, sophomore Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) has won seven of her last ten matches, most often at the No. 5 position, and is 10-4 overall on the year.

Sophomore Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) also holds a 7-3 record over the last 10 matches with an overall singles record of 12-5. She and Gray have combined for a 7-5 dual match record and have won their last two No. 2 matches together.

Phillips and doubles partner junior Heather Waring (San Antonio, Tx./John Jay) are the top combination for Juniata with an overall record of 13-6 on the year at the No.1 position. Freshman Rachel Yurchisin (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) and sophomore Jacklyn Renninger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) are 12-3 at No. 3 singles and have won eight of their last ten matches together.

Since the foundation of the Landmark, Susquehanna has gotten the better of the Eagles in four of the six matches. While Juniata won the match last season in Selinsgrove, 6-3, the Eagles have yet to defeat the Crusaders in Huntingdon during the Landmark era.
