Women’s tennis comes up short in 5-4 loss to St. John Fisher

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Juniata College women's tennis team came up one point shy of getting its first win of the spring, eventually dropping a 5-4 decision to St. John Fisher College on Wednesday in Hilton Head, S.C.

Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) and Hilary Walsh (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) each took wins out of their singles matches, after combining for an 8-5 win over St. John Fisher's Lauren Burke and Katie Pasier at No. doubles.

At No. 3 doubles, Cara Stough (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett) and Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) trailed 7-3 in their match against Sania Zaki and Kim Phimisapon, before eventually rallying to tie things up at 7-7. Zaki and Phimisapon prevailed in the last two games, and posted a 9-7 win.

Juniata (4-4) concludes the trip on Thursday when it faces Westminster College.
