Beegle and Perow victorious in singles in Juniata women’s tennis 7-2 loss to Moravian

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College captured a pair of matches in singles play, but it was not enough to overcome a 3-0 deficit heading out of doubles as the Eagles dropped a 7-2 decision to Moravian College, in Landmark Conference women's tennis on Saturday afternoon on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts. 

Moravian (7-2, 2-0 Landmark) entered the match ranked 18th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Regional rankings.

Freshman Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) and junior Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) logged the Eagles' two singles victories. Beegle notched a marathon 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 10-6 win over Moravian's Stephanie Cox at no. 3 singles. Perow won her no. 4 singles match over Elizabeth Endy, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3. 

The Eagles have the week off to prepare for their next match, a Landmark Conference clash against the University of Scranton on Monday, April 5, in Scranton, Pa.
