Snyder and Liacouras selected for All-Landmark team

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's soccer sophomore defender Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) and freshman midfielder Lauren Liacouras (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) were named to the 2011 All-Landmark Conference Second team, announced Tuesday morning.

This achievement marks the second time Snyder's name has appeared on an All-Landmark team in her collegiate campaign. Snyder ended her sophomore season with three goals and two assists, giving her eight points. She earned the game winning in goal in the Eagles' 2-1 win over King's College at Winton Hill Field on September 17. Snyder also had her hands in a 2-1 Juniata win over Lycoming College as she dished the ball to teammate Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) to start the scoring on September 13.

Liacouras played a standout midfield for the Eagles' in her freshman debut season and concluded the season with one goal and as many assists for three points. Against Keystone College on October 13, an unassisted Liacouras contributed to the four-goal Juniata scoring frenzy. Against Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University, Liacouras dumped the ball to sophomore Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) to put the Eagles ahead of the Crusaders, the game went on to end in a 1-1 2OT tie.

The Eagles finished their 2011 season with a 5-9-3 overall record and went 1-4-1 in the Landmark Conference.
