Turnovers Ground Eagles at Drew

MADISON, N.J.- The Juniata women's basketball team fell on the road at Drew University, 88-32, Saturday afternoon inside Baldwin Gymnasium.

The Rangers scored the opening basket of the game on a layup, and the Eagles countered with a Steph Emert three from the right wing to beat the shot clock off an Emelie Nonemaker assist which made it 3-2 early. The Rangers answered with a three from the top of the key, and the teams traded misses for a few possessions before Emert stole the ball, flipped it ahead, and got the ball back from Sarah Betts before laying it in to make it 5-5.

The Rangers press befuddled the Eagles for the next 10 minutes as Drew went on a 26-0 run into early in the second quarter that was broken up by a Haily Sherman foul shot. After a stop, Bri Bodtorf scored inside off an offensive rebound, and Sherman made two threes in quick succession, which made it 33-14. Juniata trailed 45-15 at the break.

The Rangers outscored the Eagles 44-17 in the second half to get the win.

Juniata returns to action this Wednesday when they travel to take on Elizabethtown Wednesday at 7:00.
