CLERMONT, Fla.- The Juniata softball team fell, 5-3 to Bethany (W.V.) before falling, 4-0 to Marietta at The Spring Games.
Bethany took the lead to start game one against Juniata. The Bison scored a run in the second inning. The Eagles got the lead in the third as they scored three runs. Molly Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer Central) started off the inning with a double to right center. After a ground out to first base, Ulrich advanced to third. Ashley Clark (Saxton, Pa. / Tussey Mountain) singled up the middle to bring Ulrich home. Maya McLeod (San Diego, Calif. / La Jolla Country Day School) homered to left field to send Clark home. The Bison scored another run in the bottom of the third as the Eagles held a 3-2 lead.
Bethany scored three more runs in the final three innings of the game to win, 5-3 over Juniata.
Game two saw, Marietta score one in the first and three in the fifth as they defeated Juniata, 4-0.
Juniata closes out their week in Florida tomorrow as they face St. Scholastica at 2PM and SUNY Oswego at 6:30PM.
