Eagles Take Crown from Royals

HARRISONBURG, Va.- The #3 Juniata men's volleyball team brushed aside Continental Volleyball Conference foe Eastern Mennonite, 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-21) Friday evening at Yoder Arena. 

The Eagle middles nearly provided as many points as the Royal team as Luke Hoffman totaled 11 kills (.588) with an assist and a block assist. Kevin Duffy III tallied 12 kills (.526) with four block assists, which ties him for the fourth-most block assists in program history with Cordt Withum '06. Reese Ganter amassed 31 assists, six digs, and four block assists.

Set one saw the Eagles hit .200 while the hosts hit -.071 as the Eagles took set one 25-15. Set two saw Juniata hit their most effectively at .391 while holding the Royals to their worst percentage at -.200 as the Eagles dominated to win 25-12 in the second set. The third set was the tightest, as the Eagles hit .286 and the Royals hit .182, but JC clinched the sweep, 25-21. 

Juniata returns to action tomorrow on the road at Randolph Macon at 1:00 in more CVC action.
