Eagles Picked 15th in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Juniata College Men's Volleyball team is ranked 15th in the National Volleyball Association/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Eagles snagged the final spot in the poll, taking 34 points. They were 13-6 in the previous season prior to springs sports stopping. JC was rounding into form, winning nine of their 12 final games including a 4-1 record in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC).

Robert Bowling (Columbus Ohio/Hilliard Darby) and Kevin Duffy (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle HS) were both named to the CVC All-Conference first team. Both of them also made inaugural Division III Men's East-Region team, where they were joined by five other CVC affiliated student-athletes. Duffy rounded off the individual accolades by being named honorable mention All-America.

The Eagles are well acquainted with the AVCA preseason poll, having appeared in all but one.

JC has also routinely finished strong. Going back to 1996, they have appeared in the final poll 20 of 25 times, the fourth most ever. They have finished ranked number one seven times and ranked in the top five 16 times, both of which are the second most since the AVCA poll started.

Information on the 2021 men's volleyball season, along with all other varsity sports at Juniata, will be released as it becomes available.
