Eagles Drop Match to No. 6 Ohio State

Eagles Drop Match to No. 6 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Juniata men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-19) on the road at No. 6 Ohio State Friday in its second matchup against an NCAA Division I opponent this season.  No. 3 Juniata dropped to 11-4 with the loss, while Ohio State improved to 11-2.

Senior Rob Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) finished with his fifth straight 20+ assist night.  But Juniata's offense struggled to get going early and the Buckeyes took advantage by racking up 7.5 team blocks and countering with a .434 team hitting percentage.

The Eagles will have a chance to rebound as they continue their road trip on Saturday, Feb. 23 in a tri-match with No. 13 Medaille College and D'Youville College.  Juniata defeated host Medaille in five back on Feb. 15 at the Juniata Invitational.  This will be the team's first look at D'Youville this season.
