Caroselli Breaks Juniata 3K Record at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Susquehanna Invitational, Saturday.

In the 3000m, Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) claimed first with a time of 8:51.82. Caroselli's 3000m time is a new Juniata record. Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) placed 15th with a time of 9:08.25 in the 3000m. 

In the mile, Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) took fourth with a time of 4:27.84. Jones' mile time moves him to third in Juniata history. Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finished sixth with a time of 4:31.26 and Erik Juengling (Lancaster, Pa. / J.P. McCaskey) finished 22nd with a time of 4:45.28. 

In the 200m dash, Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) (24.60), Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) (26.07), Siddiq Smouse (Claysburg, Pa. / Claysburg-Kimmel) (27.48) finished 26th, 46th, and 48th, respectively. In the 800m, Jones finished 15th with a time of 2:05.94, Ulrich finished 22nd with a time of 2:09.29, and Thomas Cope (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) finished 43rd with a time of 2:28.93. 

In the 4x200m relay, the team of MacMullin, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville), Zolnak, and Smouse placed eighth with a time of 1:41.63. In the 4x400m relay, the team of MacMullin, Jones, Juengling, and Smouse finished 13th with a time of 3:48.84. 

In the weight throw, Brenden Nauman (Myerstown, Pa. / ELCO) placed 28th marking 8.09m. 

The Eagles return February 23rd to compete in the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson.
