Men's Track and Field Kicks Off New Year at SU Orange and Maroon Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's indoor track & field team competed at the SU Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna, Saturday.

In the mile, Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) took fourth crossing the line at 4:36.40, Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) finished 19th with a time of 4:43.35, and Jeremy Rissler (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot) finished 33rd with a time of 4:58.28. In the 5000m run, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finished seventh coming in with a time of 16:09.91. 

In the 60m dash, Noah Zolank (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished 26th with a time of 7.72 while Devon Angermeier (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) finished 38th with a time of 8.18. In the 200m dash, Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) finished 37th coming in with a time of 25.56 while Zolnak finished 41st with a time of 25.91. In the 800m run, Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) (2:09.01), Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) (2:10.29), Erik Juengling (Lancaster, Pa. / J.P. McCaskey) (2:10.53), Caroselli (2:10.65), and Rissler (2:20.40) finished ninth, tenth, 12th, 13th, and 18th, respectively. 

The distance medley relay team of Jones, MacMullin, Juengling, and D'Amico finished second with a time of 11:14.21. 

In the field, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed ninth in the shot put throwing 12.36m. In the weight throw, Phillips placed 16th marking 10.99m. 

The track team will return January 25th as they compete in the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
