SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team opened their indoor season at the River Hawks Opener hosted by Susquehanna University, Saturday.
In the 5000m run, Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) took the top spot finishing with a time of 16:18.70. Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished 20th in the 60m dash with a personal best time of 7.75. In the 400m dash, Siddiq Smouse (Claysburg, Pa. / Claysburg-Kimmel) finished 13th with a time of 1:01.71. In the 200m dash, Zolnak finished 22nd with a time of 26.00 and Smouse finished 27th with a time of 27.47.
In the field, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed 14th throwing 11.08m in the weight throw while Brenden Nauman (Myerstown, Pa. / ELCO) placed 16th throwing 9.73m. In the shot put, Philips placed tenth marking 11.84m.
The team returns after the new year on January 18th as they compete in the SU Orange & Maroon Classic held at Susquehanna.
