Men's Soccer Blanked at Goucher

TOWSON, Md.-  The Juniata men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback on the road at Goucher, Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.  

It was a tight first half, with the Eagle holding a 4-3 edge in shots at the break. Each team managed one corner kick, and each goalie had to make one save. 

Nicholas Sinapius (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville) had lone shot on goal in the first half for JC, heading the ball on target in the 40th minute and forcing the Gopher keeper to make a stop. 

In the second half, the Gophers burrowed through the Eagle defense, managing 11 shots, but only two of them were on frame. Goucher also had a 6-1 advantage on corners in the second half.  

In the 79th minute, Goucher scored the game's lone goal and held the Eagles off in the final 11 minutes to get the win. 

Arun Subramanian (Metuchen, N.J. / Metuchen HS) made two saves in goal for Juniata. 

Juniata will take on McDaniel at home this Tuesday at 5:30.
