BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The men's soccer team beat Moravian 1-0 on the road on Saturday. The Eagles scored late in the game to obtain the victory.

Moravian outshot the Eagles 15-4 in the first half, but Arun Subramanian (Metuchen, N.J. / Metuchen HS) stayed strong in goal with six saves. Drew Murta (Exton, PA / Downingtown East High School) ripped a shot off in the 25th minute, but Moravian's defense blocked it. Trying to keep this offensive momentum in the same minute, Henry Doherty (Brunswick, Maine / Brunswick) headed one off a corner but missed wide. Nicholas Sinapius (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville) took a shot in the 36th minute, but the Greyhound's goalie stopped it. In a final attempt in the half, Melie Odigwe (Abuja, Nigeria / Marianapolis Prep School) shot the ball in the 39th minute but missed high, leaving zeros on the board.

Throughout the second half, Moravian totaled seven shots, while the Eagles only totaled three. Subramanian held his shutout and made five saves, totaling 11 for the evening. Blake Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) missed right in the 59th minute trying to put the score in Juniata's favor.

It wasn't until the 80th minute when Alec Haldeman (Hershey, Pa. / Palmyra Area HS) switched the ball to Malvin Madzimbamuto (Oftringen, Switzerland / St Thomas More) in Moravian's defensive third. Madzimbamuto settled the ball on his right foot before taking it rightie around the Greyhound's goalie.

The Eagles were able to keep Moravian from scoring in the last ten minutes and shut them out for the win. This makes for the ninth win against Moravian, with the last one in 2014 ending 3-2.

The men's soccer team takes on Susquehanna Wednesday, October 20, for a 7:00 pm away game.
