Altoona, Pa. Penn State-Altoona scored an early second half goal to come from behind and defeat Juniata men's soccer 2-1 on Tuesday night. Juniata scored first, but could not hold off the Lions in the second half despite having a plethora of opportunities in front of the net.

The Eagles scored the first goal of the game just over two minutes into the match when Nick Stone-Weiss (North Olmsted Oh. / North Olmsted) headed a ball past the Penn State keeper on a corner from Dylan Thompson (Broomfield, Co. / Peak to Peak Charter). The Eagles were called offside five times in the first half. Penn State out shot Juniata nine to five through the first forty-five.

The Lions tied up the match in the 29th minute on a Logan DeNicola shot from twenty yards out. They added their second goal early in the second half on a header in the 50th minute.

Juniata has struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities all season and saw that extend against Penn State. The Blue and Gold kept the Penn State defense on their toes, constantly attacking their zone in the last forty-five. Despite totaling eleven shots in the second half, including a four-minute span that saw them take five shots on goal, the Eagles could not net the equalizer.

The Eagles are now 2-7 and will continue their stretch of five straight games away from Huntingdon on Saturday as they take on Elizabethtown in Landmark Conference play. Game time will be at 7 p.m.
