Juniata falls to Drew University, 3-0

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Sam Nepveux's first half shot proved to be all Drew University would need to defeat Juniata College 3-0 in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Winton Hill Field.

Nepvuex's blasted a shot by Juniata keeper Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison) in the 13th minute. Nepvuex's unassisted shot came from outside the 18 yard box.

With just seconds remaining, Jonah Silk collected a ball deflected off a Juniata defender inside the goal box and beat Kohler in the 44th minute to close out the half. 

Drew's (7-3-5, 4-0-0 Landmark) final goal came in the 60th minute of the contest from Greg Zizik. Zizik chipped one in over Juniata keeper's head from just inside the 18 yard box.

Kohler played all 90 minutes in the Eagle goal and recorded three saves.  In the Ranger goal for all 90 minutes was David Brigandi, who recorded two saves. 

Juniata  (6-8-0, 1-4-0 Landmark) was outshot 14-5 and out cornered 5-1 by Drew.

The Eagles return to Landmark Conference action Tuesday, Oct. 20, when they travel to Susquehanna University to take on the Crusaders at 7 p.m.
