River Hawks Roll Past Eagles to Close the Season

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team lost 84-53 on the road at Susquehanna in their final game of the season, Saturday afternoon. 

Marcus Hall (York, Pa. / Trinity) scored the first three points for JC with a free throw and a putback following a River Hawk jumper. Susquehanna proceeded to go on a 12-0 run over the next four minutes before Nathan Markey (York, Pa. / Central York) made a free throw.  

Susquehanna kept coming, with Nick Rigby's (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon H.S.) foul shots making it 21-6.  

The River Hawk offensive barrage didn't stop, and with five and half minutes to go in the half Juniata trailed, 42-11.  

The Eagles closed the half on an 18-12 run, scoring eight of their 10 points from the free-throw line. Rigby scored on a layup, Nate DaCanal (Johnsonburg, Pa. / Elk County Catholic) added a layup of his own, Charles Somerville III (Hagerstown, Md. / St. Maria Goretti H.S.) scored inside off a pass from Hall, and Cameron Keck (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) drilled a three as the Eagles trailed 52-28 heading into the locker room. 

Susquehanna held the Eagles at bay in the second half as they cruised to an 84-53 win to finish atop the Landmark Conference.

Juniata finishes the year 6-19 (3-11).
