Field Hockey Selected to ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament

DANBURY, Conn.- The Juniata field hockey team's 2015 season will continue on as the Eagles have been selected to participate in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Tournament. The top-seeded Eagles will host eighth-seeded William Paterson in a quarterfinal on Wednesday at Knox Stadium at 7 p.m.

 

This will be Juniata's fourth appearance in the tournament as they previously qualified in 2002, 2003, and 2011. The Eagles are 11-6 overall and lost to Catholic in a shootout in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Tournament last Wednesday. The Pioneers are 10-8 and lost to TCNJ in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) semifinals 3-0.

 

The Pioneers and Eagles have played each other twice with the last time occurring in 2005 in Wayne, N.J. The two schools also played previously in the ECAC Tournament in 2003 in Wayne with William Paterson winning 2-1.

 

The winner will advance to the semifinals Saturday, Nov. 14, against the winner of the quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Stevenson and fifth-seeded Kean. The full bracket can be found here.
