HUNTINGDON, Pa.  – In the 2015 season Elizabethtown College will join the Landmark Conference baseball scheduled. Monday, April 21, Juniata College will host the Blue Jays in a single nine-inning game, previewing what will come next seasons.

The Eagles are coming off one of the better recent weeks of the season having earned a split against Penn St.-Altoona and a second doubleheader split last week against Penn St.-Behrend. Juniata dropped game one at Altoona before rebounding with a season-best offensive output for the 11-6 win. Against Behrend, the Eagles were down to their final strike staring at a doubleheader sweeping before rallying back to score five runs in the top of the seventh and top Behrend in game two 5-2.

Freshman Eric Grace (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford) led the way in both doubleheaders, hitting .750 over three games with three RBI and two runs scored. Grace also earned the win against Behrend, throwing seven complete innings and giving up just two runs on four hits while striking out four. Senior catcher Dan Gray (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) appeared in three games for Juniata last week going 4-for-8 at the plate with and on base percentage of .636.

The series between Elizabethtown and Juniata is one of oldest in Eagles baseball. The two teams first met in the 1932 season with Juniata capturing both game played that year. They have faced off nearly every year since that day. Last season the Blue Jays got the better of the Eagles 12-4, but Juniata won the previous meeting in 2011 proving that this storied rivalry has also been an even one.

First pitch for the one inning game is set for 3 p.m.
