HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After a full week of Landmark Conference games, the Juniata College baseball team will take a break from league action to host Mount Aloysius College in a doubleheader Wednesday, April 9, beginning at 2 p.m. The Eagles are 4-19 on the year and coming off a three game series at Catholic University of America. The Mounties are 9-11 overall and 4-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play.

Seniors Joe Sforza (Pittstown, N.J./Immaculata) and Brad Medellin (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) and junior Cody Krepps (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) lead the Juniata offense. Sforza tops the charts in at bats, hits, doubles, and homeruns and ranks second in triples, runs scores, runs batted in, and batting average. Medellin is number one on the team in runs scored and triples and is tied with Krepps for total hits owning the third best batting average on the team. Krepps rounds out the trio with most runs batted in and holds the top spot in batting average, hitting .410 over 20 games.

Krepps has also made 46 putouts in the outfield without committing an error. As a team, Juniata has a .936 fielding percentage and the pitching staff holds a 7.31 earned run average. On the mound junior Chris Fulton (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) has logged the most innings (35.1) recording 16 strikeouts along the way. Freshman Eric Grace (Hopewell, Pa./Northern Bedford) owns a team-low ERA of 3.86 through 25.2 innings pitch over six appearances and four starts.

Juniata and Mount Aloysius have met on five different occasions since 2006 with the Mounties holding the upper hand in the series 4-3. Mount Aloysius swept the two game series in the 2013 season and Juniata took both games back in 2012.

After the doubleheader with the Mounties, Juniata will host Drew University for a doubleheader Saturday, April 12, and a single game for senior day Sunday, April 13.
