Eagles Fall in Doubleheader at Stevenson

STEVENSON, Md. – Juniata baseball fell to 0-4 Sunday afternoon after dropping a pair of games to Stevenson University.  The Eagles lost 3-1 in the first game.  They improved their offense in game two but couldn't counter a big fourth inning from the Mustangs and fell 21-7.

 

Senior Cole Walters (Mt. Union, Pa./Mt. Union) led the Eagles with three hits on the day, extending his streak to four games.  Fellow senior Ben Mersky (Hersey, Pa./Hershey) had two hits of his own in game two.

 

On the mound, sophomore Chris Fulton (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) went six innings, striking out two in game one.  Freshman Darrin Williams (Fayetteville, Ga./Sandy Creek) closed out game two.  He pitched two innings and gave up just one earned run and struck out one.

 

Juniata stays on the road this coming Tuesday, March 5 to face Pitt-Greensburg in a doubleheader before heading off to Florida for the RussMatt Invitational.
