HUNTINGDON, PA. – Juniata College baseball's sophomore Joe Sforza (Pittstown, N.J./Immaculata) not only earned Landmark honors for his pitching performance last week against Susquehanna, but he also was awarded ECAC South Region Pitcher of the Week, released late Tuesday. 

Sforza pitched a complete game over the seven innings of game one in the Landmark series and didn't allow a single earned run and just two hits, the least Juniata has allowed in a game all season. Sforza struck out a season high six batters and had a no-hitter heading into the seventh. The Eagles went on to win the game 5-1.

Juniata fell 7-4 in game two but redeemed itself on Sunday with a 20-9 win to allow Juniata to cap its 2012 season on a series win. Juniata ended its 2012 season with a 13-24 overall record and went 4-14 in the Landmark Conference.
