Iosue hits NCAA National provisional mark as Juniata athletes compete at Allegheny Open

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Juniata College track and field’s senior Jack Iosue (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) led a group of Juniata athletes at the Allegheny Open in Meadville, Pa on Friday with a 197’ 8.0” mark in the javelin throw, hitting the NCAA Division III provisional for the upcoming NCAA D-III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Sophomore Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) took second in the meet in the 5000m run with a 18:07.30 time, and Erika Brown (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) finished 13th in the high jump with a mark of 5’ 1.0”.

Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) was just under three seconds off the NCAA provisional time in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 56.40 seconds.

Senior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) leapt 20’ 10¾” in the long jump to finish 11th, and Justin Herr (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) took eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 42’ ¾”.

In hopes of reaching NCAA Nationals, select athletes will compete in the Swarthmore Last Chance on Monday.
