2021 Juniata SAAC Executive Board Announced

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- As we begin a new year and a new semester, the Juniata College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has elected their Executive Board for 2021. Hanneliese Scheel (field hockey) and Aiden Duran (men's lacrosse) have been elected co-Presidents. Grace Erskine (women's volleyball) will continue as Communications Director, and Charlotte Mallow (women's lacrosse) will serve as Secretary.

The members of SAAC and the entire Juniata Athletic Department would also like to take this opportunity to thank the senior SAAC representatives who will be graduating this spring:

Issac Maclay (baseball)

Nate Bargo (football)

Dain Shirmer (men's soccer, former SAAC President)

Emma Moreland (women's soccer, former SAAC President)

Erin Pfeffer (softball)

Sabrina Kelly (women's track and field)

And Madison Coyler (women's basketball, former Landmark SAAC Representative).

Finally, a special shoutout to Cat Lanigan (field hockey and women's lacrosse '20) who recently completed her three year term on the NCAA Division 3 National SAAC. Cat's vision, energy, and leadership were unmatched and she has left a lasting impact on all who have had the pleasure of working with her!

The Juniata College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a passionate group of student-athlete representatives from each of the Varsity sport teams at Juniata College. The purpose of the SAAC is to represent the interests of student-athletes and provide a bridge between student-athletes and the greater Juniata community by:

-serving as the voice of student-athletes in conversations with the athletic department, administration, and others across campus

-organizing opportunities for community outreach both on campus and in the greater Huntingdon area and encouraging student-athlete participation in those activities

-creating a unified atmosphere throughout Juniata Athletics where athletes support athletes, and

-increasing awareness of service and leadership opportunities among student-athletes.
