ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team finished fourth in Landmark Championships.
Faith Nichols (Verona, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) was the Eagles top finisher of the day. She took third in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.19. Another Eagle top finisher, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:04.32. Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield) trailed not far behind Kalil finishing in fourth with a time of 12:21.08 while Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa. / Northern Cambria) took seventh with a time of 12:35.03.
Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) finished fourth in the 5,000m run crossing the finish at 18:23.55. Kalil placed sixth (18:29.23), Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) placed 17th (20:20.76) and Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) placed 18th (20:25.88) in the 5,000m run. In the 200m dash, Nichols finished 6th with a time of 27.37.
In the 800m run, Collado took sixth coming in with a time of 2:22.12, Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) placed 13th with a time of 2:30.63 and Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Bridgeport Central HS) placed 20th with a time of 2:37.47. Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Upper Dauphin) finished fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.65 and took ninth in the 400m hurdles (1:14.05).
The 4x100 relay team of Walsaw-Wertz, Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS), Corey Atkinson (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro HS), and Nichols took fourth (51.99). The quartet of Alexander, Friemuth, Nichols and Stewart took fifth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:21.19.
On the field side of things, Orndorf placed seventh throwing 35.76m. In the final event of the weekend, Badorf-England placed eighth (30.57m) while Leamer placed 12th (26.60m) in the javelin.
