Women's Track and Field Competes at the Millersville Metrics

Millersville, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team competed at the 36th annual Millersville Metrics, Saturday afternoon.

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y./ Milton Hershey) won the women's 1500m with a time of 4:51.21, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen) finished fourth with a time of 5:05.04, Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) was 11th at 5:13.64 while Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) was 20th with a time of 5:20.67. Collado (2:23.59) also finished fourth in the 800m while Kalil (2:33.84) was 13th and Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was 15th with a time of 2:35.06. 

Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa./ Upper Dauphin) placed fifth in the triple jump (9.83m) and also finished seventh in the 100m hurdles (17.56). 

Faith Nichols (Verona, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff HS), Corey Atkinson (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro HS) and Walshaw-Wertz finished sixth in the 4x100 meter relay (53.79). Nichols finished 18th in the womens 400 (1:05.13). 

Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) finished 10th in the discus with a toss of 33.47 while Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, N.J./Audubon) finished 20th with a throw of 28.95m. Orndorf finished 13th in the hammer toss (36.81m) while Young was 14th (36.77m). 

Suzy Badorf-England (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg HS) finished 16th in the javelin with a throw of 28.64m while Kelly Leamer (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood-Antis HS) was 17th with a throw (28.27m). 

The Eagles finished 10th out of 19 teams at the meet.
